Alert: report of an incident in the Wednesbury area

On Tuesday 10 July 2018, a parent reported that on Monday evening her children, on their way from swimming, were approached by a man outside Wednesbury Library. The man called over to them saying they had his wife’s iPhone and he had used GPS to track the phone. The man ran off to his car when he thought they were calling the police. The man was driving a blue BMW estate car.

Description: white male, short brown hair and wearing work clothes.

On Tuesday 26 June 2018, at 11.30am, a girl was walking home along Garratt’s Lane, when a car stopped and three men in the car asked her to get inside.

When the girl refused, they turned the car around and followed her. The girl heard the driver tell the other two males to get out of the car and grab her: she ran to safety.

On Tuesday 26 June 2018, a parent reported that she had been followed home after school yesterday by a man who was shouting inappropriate comments at her and her daughter. He approached them near to Victoria Park in Tipton and followed them towards the station. He asked mum for her phone number. And later this morning the same man followed the parent from near to Tipton Green down Owen Street in Tipton towards the station. This time he was in a big red van.

A parent phoned in this morning to report an incident he had witnessed this morning.

While standing at a bus stop in Thimblemill Road, Smethwick, he saw an older man [wearing a light blue jacket and grey trousers] taking pictures of three of our female students.

The police have been informed.
